Drag Queens on Trial Opens Sept. 18

September 14, 2015

DRAG QUEENS ON TRIAL opens at the Ernie Checkeris Theatre at Thorneloe University on the Laurentian University campus on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 pm for two weekends. This is a co-production of Thorneloe Theatre Arts and Cambrian College Theatre Arts Techical Theatre Production Program.

This first production of the Thorneloe/Cambrian 2015-2016 season is the funny, outrageous, fabulous story of Marlene, Judy and Lana, three Toronto drag queens on trial for being drag queens. Written by Sky Gilbert, the founder of Toronto’s LGBTQ theatre, Buddies in Bad Times, DRAG QUEENS ON TRIAL follows the trials and tribulations of three fabulous ladies as they each are accused of being that worst of the low life, drag queens. The spirited, feisty and touching defence of their existence shows the strength of characters who are not mainstream. This hilarious, high-spirited play gives the audience a raucous, memorable evening at the theatre.

Because of its sexual content and adult language, this play is for mature audiences only.

Tickets may be reserved by calling the Thorneloe office at 705-673-1730 ext. 0. They will also be sold at the door. Cost is $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for students and seniors.

Performance dates are September 18, 19, 25, 26 at 7:30pm. There will be a matinee on Sunday, September 20 at 2:00pm. All performances are in the Ernie Checkeris Theatre at Thorneloe University on the Laurentian University campus.
