Prespective Premieres at Cinéfest

September 13, 2018

Seven Years in the Making, and Surpassing Two Hours in Duration, Perspective Premieres at Cinéfest

Thorneloe University, federated with Laurentian University, is proud to announce that the locally produced dramatic feature Perspective will premiere at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 as part of Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival’s Cinema Summit program. Subtitled “Variations on a Love Triangle,” Perspective was written, produced, and directed by Canadian filmmaker B. P. Paquette, and stars Stéphane Paquette, Patricia Tedford, and Pandora Topp. The film is divided into nine chapters, shot over nine years, and spans nine years in the lives of three characters named “Alex.”

Perspective is unique in that it is a film in progress, and will continue to evolve until 2020. Every year since 2012, a new chapter has been presented exclusively at Cinéfest, along with each proceeding chapter. Each chapter runs approximately 10-20 minutes, with the completed film expected to run 140 minutes.

Perspective was produced in collaboration with Thorneloe University, and the entire faculty of Thorneloe’s Motion Picture Arts (MPA) Program were involved in the production, as well as many students in the MPA Program.

The most recent chapter, titled Chapter 7: Me, Myself, and I, will premiere following the first seven chapters, titled, respectively, Chapter 1: Salt & Soda (2012), Chapter 2: Chris and Other Beards (2013), Chapter 3: Hush, hsuH (2014), Chapter 4: Reflecting (2015), Chapter 5: Triangulation (2016), and Chapter 6: The Saddest Lines (2017).

Cinéfest screenings are held at SilverCity Sudbury Cinemas, located at 355 Barry Downe Rd, Sudbury, ON. Tickets for Perspective are free for those who apply via  “Industry / Cinema Summit Accreditation” here: http://www.cinefest.com/en/industry-portal/
