Thorneloe Congratulates Judi Straughan

May 28, 2018

Thorneloe University is pleased to congratulate and celebrate the Sudbury Theatre Centre’s recently-retired Education Director and former Thorneloe faculty member, Judi Straughan, who is being honoured by the Sudbury Theatre Centre on May 31.

“Judi is one of Sudbury’s pillars when it comes to live theatre in Sudbury,” said  Dr. Robert Derrenbacker, President of Thorneloe University. “As a teacher, mentor, volunteer, and champion, she has ensured the arts remain an important and long-term part of Greater Sudbury’s fabric. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Judi Straughan, our city enjoys a vibrant and ever-growing arts scene.”

Having worked with Thorneloe’s Theatre Department, Sudbury Secondary School’s Performing Arts Program, the Sudbury Theatre Centre, the Sudbury Arts Council, the Mayor’s Celebration for the Arts, and Eastlink Television – there is almost no part of the performing arts that have not benefited from Judi’s influence.

A gala evening takes place at the Theatre Centre on May 31 starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 each or two for $75. Simply visit http://www.sudburytheatre.com/ to purchase tickets.
