Women’s History Week 2012

September 18, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

Women’s History Week will be celebrated at Laurentian from October 15-19, 2012. If you could plan to include something in your courses about women during that week, and if you would be willing to open your classroom up to the public for that occasion, we would like to hear about it. Please contact Linda Ambrose lambrose@laurentian.ca or Jennifer Johnson jjohnson@laurentian.ca so that we can add your class to our list of events.

The keynote speaker for the week will give a public lecture on Tuesday, October 16 at 7:30. Dr. Karen Balcom of McMaster University will speak about her work on the history of cross-border adoption and her award-winning book The Traffic in Babies. The lecture will be in English. More details about this to follow.

If you are interested in joining our planning committee to work on women’s history week events, we are planning an informal meeting on Thursday, August 30 at 11 am at the Tim Horton’s in the bowling alley. Please join us then!
